Sebastian  Roque B. General Roca, Argentina, 1982. Lives and works in Milan. He trained as an architect at the University of Palermo, Buenos Aires, and from a young age developed work related to metallurgy, carpentry, and electronics, incorporating technical knowledge into the construction of his projects. During university, he studied photography and attended a workshop with sculptor Claudia Aranovich, where he explored polyester resin. In 2010, he joined an art clinic with painter Sergio Bazán, and in 2013 participated in the Artists Program at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (Buenos Aires), directed by Inés Katzenstein.

In 2019, he attended a jewelry seminar. Reinterpreted by him as small sculptures and body accessories, the artist began working with a portable studio, producing pieces in a self-taught, sculptural manner—a practice he continues today with two lines: one integrated into his artistic project and another more commercial. He has worked in lighting, special effects, and camera for independent film projects, and as an architect in the studios of Juan Fontana, Arquitecto Izquierdo & Asociados, and Caputo Constructora. As an educator, he served as an assistant in the Architecture 2 course at the University of Palermo, Buenos Aires.

His artistic practice is guided by the desire for a deeper experience with the natural environment. He uses materials that have already been processed, in order to “de-process” them through an alchemical act performed with a homemade device. In his research, Roque seeks to free materials—aluminum and glass—from their existing forms so they may return to a natural state, from which he reshapes them into new objects: artworks. Whether conceived as pieces to be worn by the body or as sculptures in a more traditional sense, his works aim to establish a dialogue with space.Through this alchemy, circular economy becomes manifest—the reuse of aluminum and glass represents a lower environmental impact, a motivation the artist pursues with intention and awareness.
